3rd party router with AT&T?

Hey, just saw Bitwit's new router video and noticed that he is now using a 3rd party router with the AT&T one acting as just a modem. Does any one know how to set it up? I wish he did in the video. Does anyone know how to set this up cause I would like to set one up art my house?
