Ryzen 7 5800x under h150i capellix idles at 60c and hits 90c can someone help me lower Temps

Either the cooler has poor contact with your CPU or the pump is dead.

Check to make sure liquid is flowing and if it is, remount the cooler. Make sure you apply paste correctly. Dab a pea size blob in the middle of your CPU and don't touch it further or add more, the mounting process will spread it to where it needs to go.

What @Roswellsaid.

I normally like to do an X on the IHS with Ryzen as it gives better coverage. I doubt it would matter too much as long as there is enough thermal paste in the blob to spread out to the edges.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey There,1st time on Ryzen here & I've exactly the same setup on a Rog B550-E mobo. My Temps were 40-50c at idle & was heating 90c within 10 secs of running r23. Tried the below

- Reseated the AIO

- repasted with a CM master gel

- tried changing PBO2 curve with 25 all core and 15 on best cores

But had no result. Then I tried "Clock Tuner for Ryzen CTR 2.1. After tuning i lowered my temp at full load (80c) but also it now boosts up to 4.45 GHz. Also idle temps are now at 50-55c.

So, yes. I'm also interested if there are any solutions. I'm starting to think my AIO is faulty.

I'm waiting for a Cryonaut paste to arrive & that is my last hope.

Anyone have any helpful ideas?
