How to know if dram voltage is high enough?

is it as simple as the system booting? Just built my sister a new pc with ddr4 3600, set it to 3600 and voltage to 1.3v and it booted, but will it crash later?

If it’s 3600, it has an XMP or DOHC profile. Set that in BIOS and it’ll likely be fine. If all you did was set the speed to 3600, no it’s almost certainly not stable.

Somebody on this forum once told me not to use XMP... dont remember why

so XMP is generally better?

couple of goes round on PCMark Memtest'll route out any doubts

 

Set XMP and run Memtest if it survives 200% of that it'll be good

Yes... use XMP. There were some issues with XMP/DOHC with early Zen, but that has mostly been ironed out at this point.

 

Enable it, and itll likely be fine.

kek I actually bought her a 3200 kit not 3600

 

Its on XMP profile 2 thats set at 3200 so im leaving it alone.
