What's this USB called on my camera?

Doesn't look like mini-USB or any other standardized connector, so probably proprietary

It'd be far easier if you listed the model of the camera. There should be a sticker somewhere on it that states it.

These Sony compact cameras use a non-standard connector designed by and for Sony (this is what a proprietary connector is).

Are you looking to buy a replacement cable? If so just put "Sony DSC-W530 cable" into ebay or similar, and you should get the right thing. Feel free to post here to check if unsure.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Most companies on eBay ship globally, especially companies from China, which is likely where it'd come from.

He's correct. It's a proprietary connector, as most Sony products use. Which is why I usually don't buy Sony.

AFAIK that camera doesn't charge from USB, it came with a separate charger and you had to take the battery out and put it in. So no.

This page says the charger is a BC-CSN. You can search for that on ebay or such.

Note that it's a 10 year old camera, it's very possible the battery is dead by now and you'd need to replace that too. Might or might not be worth it.

Its a sony proprietary cable. so its not a standard cable.

What is your goal? To use the camera? You really want the battery charger if you want to use it, and there pretty cheap on ebay. Just saying, your phone probably takes better pictures though.

Merged with previous thread as it's essentially the same question.

I was pretty sure I actually had one of these and since we just had a massive thunderstorm and I unplugged all my tech I went to look in the cupboard - and yes found it, along with cable and charger.

Can confirm it will NOT charge from USB.

I don't know what camera you are talking about (you didn't bother to tell us) but if the manual says that the camera can't charge via USB, then you do need to buy a charger for it to work.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Threads merged with your original thread, again.

You've already asked if you can charge your camera via USB and you've already received answers saying that you cannot charge your model of camera over USB - including from someone who has the same model camera who even tried it and showed you that it wouldn't charge. Just because you didn't like the answers you were given doesn't mean you'll get different answers by creating new threads asking the same question.
