Transferring all data from main storage drive to another?

Hi guys, been gone from the PC-building world for a while now, and i'm now a total n00b. 

I'm now running a SATA mode M.2 drive as my main storage drive, with my operating system and everything like that.

I've been thinking of getting a faster M.2 drive, one that isn't in SATA but PCIE mode.

Do any of you know how i can transfer all of my data from my original main drive to a new one, if it's even possible?

Id keep the sata drive, the performance difference won't matter.

 

But there are many cloning tools like macrum reflect.

Agreed. It’s not even noticeable going from SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD. If the workload benefits from it, yes it makes a difference. For normal PC use and gaming, it doesn’t.

As said, I would also keep the SATA to boot and new SSD (NMVe or SATA doesn't matter) as data storage.

 

Booting off the current or a new one won't make a lick of difference.   

 

I personally use a "slower and older" SATA drive to boot off of, and using larger "slightly better" drives as storage.
