MSI reveals the Godzilla edition of RTX 3070 SUPRIM SE that will launch in Japan

EiP___

Summary

MSI has reveal a special edition of its RTX 3070 SUPRIM designed after the iconic kaiju Godzilla. In this collab, the GPU incorporates the monster's color scheme of red and black with a special backplate featuring the lizard itself. It is being priced on Amazon JP at 117,386 JPY( or 1068.55 USD). It is currently unknown if this will come overseas like the ASUS Gundam collab.

Quotes

Quote

The graphics card is based on RTX 3070 LHR SUPRIM SE model from the existing MSI lineup. It is essentially a custom version with some additional bundles, such as a VGA support bracket and a large mousepad with Godzilla.

My thoughts

I really hope it does come overseas cause I honestly really like it. Seeing that the ASUS Gundam items was also available outside of Japan, I could see this coming as well.

This looks really awesome! Puts my RX 6900XT to shame. But that price tag of ~$1000 is not so appealing for a RTX 3070 if found for MSRP.

It's a 3070 with Godzilla on it for an MSRP of $1000?

Cool. I hope no one buys it and gets a 3080 FE for $700 MSRP, since we're already buying things in MSRP fantasy land.

I don't think "limited edition" and slightly different skin is worth $500.

Just saying.

if you don't buy this card, then godzilla will come to your home and delete your homework folder/s

But seriously, a thousand bux for a 3070, even if you get it on MSRP  isn't that good of a deal. And this doesn't appeal to a lot of people, like me. I like me gpus like me ice cream, vanilla.

Am I the only one who thinks the MSI badge on the backplate ruins the aesthetics?

somewhat. I noticed it after you pointed it out. For me the color scheme alone is disgusting, so a corporate tattoo doesn't really seem that problematic.

Seems ugly to me.  The backplate is too busy as well.  A lot of GPU shroud design is rather in bad taste to me, unlike the more symmetric and pleasing recent Founders Edition designs or something like Gigabyte Vision.

Nah the godzilla on the back takes away from the msi badge aesthetics. In all honesty though I prefer the weeb cards over this. Msi has nothing on yeston.

Actually, I would prefer the entire skin to be a continuous hologram. 🤔
