I’m completely stumped and I’m regretting trying to build my own PC

grbowling

I just spent 9 hours trying to get my pc to turn on and it won’t. I think my issue is because my front panel connectors aren’t plugged into my motherboard but the only things I see are the power LED+ and power LED-. I don’t see the switch cable or any of the others. And even if I were to find those and plug them in I highly doubt everything would still work. I really don’t know what to do. Are the front panel cables plugged into the case when you get it or do you have to but the other ones separate? My case is the Corsair Crystal 570x if that helps

We need your motherboard to even begin to help. I'm going to look up the manual (which came in the box) which has the front panel headers clearly labeled.

I know how to plug them in. I just don’t o so where the cables are. The only ones I see are power Led+ and Power Led -. Do the front panel cables just come pre plugged in to most cases?

Yes. They are hard-wired. Never seen a case where they weren't.

For your case, all of these should have wires from the buttons on the case...

What in the world have you been doing for 9 hours with no power switch?

You know you can accomplish the same thing as pressing the power button just by bridging the two pins for the switch with a metal screwdriver or something similar?

Yes, and all usually bundled together. If they're somehow not in there, and this case was brand new, that's just a pretty serious manufacturing defect from Corsair.

Yes.  Find the button on the case for power, look behind it and see the 18-24 inch wire coming out of it.

Yes… they sometimes tuck the wire bundle into a CD or HDD bay. They are there, unless someone cut them out or the case wasn’t assembled properly. They are usually soldered and glued on the case side……… they don’t come apart easily.

If you want to see if your PC works, you don’t even need the power button plugged in. If the PSU is flipped on, and everything is plugged in (CPU, RAM, heatsinks etc) you can just use a screw driver to bridge the power pins on the motherboard and it will start. All the power switch does it complete a circuit, a screwdriver or any metal object will complete the circuit just the same. But, that not a great way to turn your PC on every time… the wires in the case somewhere im sure.

They are 100% in the case preinstalled somewhere, Maybe try looking as close to the buttons on the case as possible for a group of wires or a larger black rubber encasing that has the wires inside then follow that until you find the end. If you get them and hook them up I bet your computer will work. And as said above me, if you just wanna put your mind at ease and make sure it powers on just jump the pins with a screw driver and it will fire up

No to the screw driver.  Front panel wires are EASY to find.  The case is the size of a small carry-on suitcase.  There aren't many places to hide, they're there and he just needs to look for them.

Unless he's not telling us something ,like he bought the case used from some shady guy who may have cut all the wires... they're there. He needs to look.
