GPU fan at 100% after Windows Login

Andrea F.

Hello people,

after a reboot the fans of my GPU (Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity) started running at maximum speed even if task manager does not detect GPU usage and temps are at idle range.
I tried updating drivers of mobo and gpu but no luck. I tried different troubleshooting and this is what I found:
- GPU fans start spinning at 100% only when Windows login pops up, not in BIOS or when posting.

- GPU fans do not run at 100% when booting in safe mode.

- Tested on another pc and the issue does not appear.

My assumption is that a software is messing up with fan control but I can't put my finger on what's triggering the effect.

I tried using FireStorm which has a fan control but it does not alter the fan speed despite being set to the lowest speed, the light effects are conntrollable though so the software is affecting the GPU in some regards.

Do you have any suggestion?
