My hard drives and SSDs - Comparison and opinion

Vishera

As an enthusiast for a decade or so i have amassed large amounts of storage drives,

So now i can show you the differences in performance, and my opinion on these drives based on benchmarks and experience.

(Specs are in the images)

Let's start:

Fast Hard Drive :

This drive is not the fastest HDD,but it's fast compared to most hard drives.

Also this is a consumer drive with CMR!

Experience in Windows: As long as the active time is not at 100% - You will have no slow downs.

And if it reaches 100% - You will have to wait for it to finish, adding more work for the drive will only lengthen the wait.

It reaches 100% only when downloading or installing stuff to it.

Average Hard Drive:

It's a very common, and cheap 1TB drive, very reliable and the quality is good.

This drive is SMR.

My 15 years old Hard Drive:

So reliable...and slow, yet it refuses to die!

Experience in Windows: Extremely slow,to the point you have to scream for help 😄

Here come some SSDs:

Cheap SSD:

If you want those TBW for longevity and performance that's not the drive for you,but it's crazy cheap.

High quality SSD:

That's the way i like it.

Some USB drive:

HIdWKzO_d.webp?maxwidth=1520&fidelity=grand

Do not buy,it easily overheats and gets very slow,

Also the drive is very hot to the touch so be careful.

I have a lot more drives, but i think there are enough here 😄
