Which smartphones are the most compatible with the Microsoft ecosystem?

Danny Donkey

Being as well integrated to the Microsoft ecosystem as I am, using Nokia Lumia/Windows Phone was a dream. Those days are unfortunately over as my Windows Phone got bricked years ago, and I had to replace it with something. The best replacement I found was an Android phone which I am going to replace. Does it exists any good options nowadays that nicely works with the Microsoft-ecosystem without pushing Google- or Apple services?

I'm promptly tired of my phone refusing to suggest and use my Microsoft-mail address and rather wants me to use the Gmail-dummy I was forced to create for being able to use the phone - and now all my updated contacts are stored to my gmail account which I never wanted to have to begin with. Also I miss having my phone storing captured/recorded media on OneDrive - I am now forced to transfer the files manually between my devices.

Might want to have a look at "microg" if you are a google-phobe

Just dont expect anyone here to offer assistance with it (dont look at me)

Good luck!

I won't call myself a Google-phobe. Although I avoid Google Chrome like the pest due to it's dominance, I do not have anything against using the other services. What I am, however, is too stubborn to swap ecosystem as long as the leftovers of the once huge Microsoft ecosystem still works perfectly for my computers.

Thanks for the tip! Too bad Surface Duo isn't available in my region yet.

Samsung has a deal with Microsoft that includes a lot of apps, but then you can always install those yourself. It really just saves you time. Even the Surface Duo is a typical Android phone in many ways, as Microsoft-optimized as it is.

You'll probably never get back to where you once were. As it stands, I'm slightly surprised that you aren't giving as much consideration to an iPhone given that Apple isn't as pushy about email (since it doesn't really offer its own email these days) and lets you plug OneDrive into the Files app. My fiancée is deep into the Microsoft ecosystem at work and hasn't had problems using it on her iPhone.
