Help my pc keeps displaying “please power down and Connect the the pcie cables”

I keep get a message when I boot my pc"please power down and connect your pcie cables"even though the cable is plugged in properly

specs

Cpu:i5-9400f
Gpu:Gtx 1660 ventus oc 6g
Motherboard:gigabyte b360m ds3h
Ram:16g can’t remember the name
Hdd:1tb can’t remember the name either
Ssd:256g can’t remember the name too
Power supply:evga 550w supernova ga gold edition

your help would be greatly appreciated

I assume your video card uses a 6 pin connection, which cable did you use? It looks like you have a dual 4 pin, a 6+2 and possibly a straight 6pin cable

Ok, dumb question, is your PSU modular? Are you certain the cables are properly plugged into the PSU?

It’s not a dumb question I should have put this in the description it is a modular psu and I’ll try putting in the cables again

It was working one day and then it started displaying this message and I think it’s been like this for about a month

Video card might have gone bad, only way to tell is to swap it out.

I took it apart it’s looking good but I’ll try it on a different motherboard

I don’t have another one sadly so if it’s a motherboard problem I’ll make sure I’ll get one that has multiple pcie slots
