what is an FX8350 build PC worth?

xcile92

my current gaming pc build...

Fractal Design Core 2300
AMD Vishera Black Edition FX-8350 4.0Ghz (OctaCore) (Overclocked)
Corsair Value 1600Mhz 32GB RAM
WD Green SATA SSD 240GB for OS/WD Green SATA SSD 480GB
Windows 10 Pro BETA x64
ASUS AMD Radeon RX-590 8GB ROG STRIX (Overclocked)
ASUS M5A78L-M USB3 PLUS
ASUS BT500
Arctic A32 with 2x Arctic F12 PWM PST Fans, 6x Arctic F14 PWM PST, Arctic F12 Pro PWM PST
Corsair VS550 +80
Creative SoundBlaster FX 5.1 with SBX Pro Studio
BitFenix Alchemy 2.0 Magnetic LED Purple x3
Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz 8GB x4
ASUS Blu-Ray Optical Drive

or is that listing too overkill or worth keeping? it can play games rather fine. but current titles kicking it outdated rather fast these days. the CPU does bottleneck in modern games... or maybe some tips on improvements. its quite a decent machine runs really well. and has taken 3 years to build...

It's quite outdated to be honest. But it all depends on what games you want to play. Modern AAA titles, it will struggle.

Not much you can do, maybe change the GPU out for something like a good GTX 970 maybe?
The chip is well capable of more MHz but that's not going to help much anyway, main thing is to keep it cool.

GPU is worth more than the rest of everything.  Build a new machine around the RX590 and put the rest as a server.

plays RE8 fine in overclocked. struggles when not overclocked. the rx 590 overcloocked gpu acts like the rx5500 base clock only its 25mhz shorter. but most AAA games today gets roughly 60fps. i just struggle on open world games like gta. i have tried gta on a ryzen 7 2700x and its magnificent. im at the moment planning to go on credit for 3 years to build a pc... with a new setup. but it really depends on my credit score to be honest as it sucks. i used my new parts i had laying about for a year to build a friend a pc and he under appreciated my efforts to help him everytime i bothered. and i always kept saying its hard to buy a decent gpu but he won't shut up about ps4 or ps5. so yeah kinda a slap in the face for me i gave my only gpu i had on shelf a rog strix rx560 it plays fortnite and gtav well over 60fps and still is ungrateful.

i'll pass on the gtx 970 8gb. due to overpricing... my RX590 packs a fair punch anyway. its just the cpu holding me down... the motherboard i have won't accept the fx 9590 upgrade.

No it won't run a 9590 without frying and dying.
Just do the best you can until you can do better, I've been through all that before myself.
