What's the difference between the 3070 and the 3060?

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I was hoping to get a 3070 for my first ever build but I can't really manage that due to the prices, I was wondering is there such a big difference in performance between the 3070 and a 3060? What's the recommended psu for the 3060, I have a RM750 and I'm worried it's overkill for a 3060, I'm paring it with a ryzen 5 5600x, thx for ur help

Psu overkill is fine.

 

The performance difference between a 3060 and 3070 is decently big like 50%.

 

But that means nothing until we know what you want to do.

 

If you are gaming what res in what games at what framerate is your target?

I had no idea the performance difference was that high, I have a 4k 144hz monitor so that's what I'm hopping for, I have been playing on a laptop on minimum graphics so I do want to test all the games I have been missing out on with high graphics

if i were u since you are going for a 3070, i would aim for a 1440p 144hz monitor
