Front USB Ports Not Working..... ?

Error 504

Few weeks ago, after Windows 10 update, my front USB ports stopped working. Then I figured that I also needed to installed an OPTIONAL update. So I installed it, and the ports started working again.

Few days ago, there was another Windows 10 update, and that "broke" my front USB ports again, and this time, there is no "fix" optional update.

The ports don't work now. When they worked, I could plug in my phone and I could access the files on my phone.

Now when I plug in my phone, the battery still gets charged, but I can't access files.

I tried plugging in USB stick, and also not working.

The ports in the back still work, but it's just annoying to reach around.

Any advice please?

Thank you.

try launching command prompt as an Administrator and run:  SFC /Scannow

you could then try uninstalling the USB Controller from device manager in safemode, rebooting, and letting it redetect.

Go into device manager, and see if there are any devices that don't have drivers installed.

If so, go and find the USB driver on your motherboards support page.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

SFC --> Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

safe mode reboot ---> i removed usb in safe mode, restarted, windows installed usb on its own, and still no front usb

device manager ---> no exclamation mark on any of the usb icons

and i don't see any usb driver for my mb ---> msi z370 a-pro

dang it, i guess i'm gonna have to go on without the front usb ports until someone at msi decides to continue supporting this old motherboard.

😞
