Laptop recommendations?

So, I live in a very old home. The electricity is outdated and will cut out if i use my desktop PC for any amount of time. I have a laptop but it is a refurbished model (Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 1, which has a pretty crap battery). Should i just spend the money on a battery from iFixIt and replace it myself or save up for a brand new laptop? The Lenovo X1 Carbon is not bad in terms of running day to day windows 10 tasks, i'm just trying to figure out if replacing the battery on it would be a lost cause since it might not work properly or how i want it once it is replaced. The iFixIt website says the battery is brand new, but who is to say it won't get damaged in shipping or something.

Any ideas on what to do, and what laptops i should look into if laptop battery life is priority number 1?

The specs i am looking for are as follows:

Windows 10 Home or Pro (Either one, really..)

8 GB or more memory

1 TB hard drive or a 512 GB SSD

I would prefer if the laptop had battery care/stability functions built in. (Like the ability to stop the battery charge once it reaches a certain percentage)

3 or more USB A ports

light up keyboard would be sweet.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can recommend me some options for laptops. My price range is anything 1000 USD or below.

I would personally take a stab at it. It being damaged in shipping would be rather rare as most reputable suppliers would package them well protected. And just looking at the diagram, it's a straight forward swap. From the photos it looks similarly constructed like the HPs I work with daily so it'll only take you a minute or so to get inside.
