You say "should have", did you buy all this already?

Either way, I would've done four sticks of RAM (and possibly more of it) and a lot more storage.

Quote me to see my reply!

You say the computer is going to be a headless gaming computer, but you have no graphics card listed. Do you already have one? Keep in mind that the R9 5900X has no onboard graphics.

-You have no GPU

-Motherboard is really overkill, could’ve gone with a B550 + a 5950x for that price.

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

That is a great motherboard if you do a lot of overclocking  But unless you also need all the connectivity it offers, you can go with much cheaper B550 board.

Graphics card?

Motherboard is great but mad overkill. I would look for another B550 or something unless you are planning on overclocking hardcore.

honestly the CPU you're running also could be overkill if this is a gaming rig only. i would suggest maybe dropping to a 7 core or so and put more money into your graphics card.

I am a big fan of not having open slots of ram i would suggest either more ram or honestly depending on what youre doing with this rig the same amount just 4 sticks.

GPU is crucial to every build if you have one already great but i would add a GPU. If you're waiting on a GPU to become more affordable i would check FB market place, sometimes they have great deals for an older model that is super functional. or if you were planning on having onbaord graphics i would look at switching the build to Intel. .

you might want to consider, depending on your GPU, maybe bumping up your power supply to 1000 watts or so. if you use a newer graphics card you'll need more power potentially.

cheers man! congrats on the build hopefully we can get GPUS again for MSRP

Beyond overkill motherboard.

Trident Z memory modules are not a great choice to pair with an NH-D15. Corsair Vengeance LPX would be better.

Don't use RAID 0 in a server. Use 2TB drives instead. I'd getting two 2TB Samsung 980 drives rather than 2x1TB 980 and 2x1TB SATA III ssd.

Even with a windowed Meshify 2, I would not have bothered with the cost of Chromax Black parts.

I wouldn't have bothered with the Arctic thermal compound. The stuff that comes with the cooler is fine.

Since the system will be headless I would have used a lower capacity psu. Probably around 550W.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Do you have an old GPU to put into it? Even though it's headless, it will need a bare minimum of a video card to boot and set up (unless you're doing some really fancy provisioning). Even though your motherboard may have an HDMI port, it won't actually do anything because there's no onboard graphics on that CPU. If you don't have a spare, you can find the cheapest thing you can that doesn't have reviews saying it fails a lot.
