Why all the 3060-3080 hate in the 3080 ti reviews?

CryingWimp

I'm confused I was watching a 3080 ti video and the comments are 99% hate. Everyone is complaining that the 3060-3080 has such great value that its making the x080ti look extra bad this generation? WOW you really can't make people happy, the 3060-3080 are too good this generation? WTF is going on. If the 3060-3080 are amazing values this time around, then why don't people buy those once any of them are in stock? I'm so confused.

Anyone else notice this?

Everyone is just mad because no one can buy the stuff anyway. And when you look at MSRP compared to the 3080, the 3080Ti is terrible value. It's 70% more expensive for 10% more performance. But i'll let you decide on your own how useful MSRP is nowadays.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

The value would be good at normal price but at the prices atm none of the cards make any fking sense 😄 and its just a slap in the face to release more cards when they cant even deliver the current Cards most * gamers * are just feed up with this bs i mean the 3080 ti jumped to 2k in like 10 secs while it only has 12gb memory half of a 3090 that u could get for around the same a month ago

Think of it this way, the RTX 3080 Ti is a straight money grab by nVidia and that's mostly why there's hate against it. Why introduce two refresh cards (RTX 3080 Ti/3070 Ti) when there isn't enough RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 to go around? The RTX 3080 Ti SKUs are probably SKUs that did not make the RTX 3090 cut, so instead of going to RTX 3080's which would normally be the case, nVidia came up with the RTX 3080 Ti (extra 2GB VRAM and bumped up speed at a 'reasonable' 500USD extra over the RTX 3080).

Besides, the RTX 3080 is supposed to sell at 700USD, the RTX 3080 Ti going for 1200USD (was supposed to be 1000USD, but it seemed nVidia decided 1200USD made more sense (aka profits) to them and changed it to 1200USD at the very last moment as they knew would sell regardless of pricing. Now, IF you can't see the rationale behind this hatred after this, then I put it to you that you are either a blind fanboy, or just utterly naive, in which either case, nVidia loves you so very much.

legit question, is this any better than the 2080 vs 2080ti performance though? like for all intents and purposes it might as well be the same price gap with the exception of a lack of a Titan card and the strategic positioning of the 3090 to make the 3080ti as appealing as possible because what is nvidia if not one of the greediest corporations in the world

Okay, that makes a bit more sense. I get not liking $1200 for a GPU but I never bought the $1200 models before either.

I still really don't understand why so much of the hate is towards how great of a value the 3060-3080 are though. Everyone was complaining how good the value of a 3060 ti and 3080 especially are. In order for the 3080 ti to be a better value they would have to had nerfed the 3060-3080 so it looks better in comparison? I'm really glad they choose to make the performance of the lower tier cards higher this generation. The 3060 ti is nearly as fast as a 2080ti, thats amazing value I think, I wish I could get one in stock somewhere. Its pretty similar to the 3080ti in performance compared to previous generations.

Do that many people get high end graphics cards and they are angry at people with 3060-3080 who have nearly the same performance?

Huh? What is it exactly that you're asking?😖

Also, the RTX 3080 cost 500USD less (MSRP) vs the RTX 3080 Ti which beats it by. what? 10% or so? The RTX 3080 Ti cost about 71.5% more, does that sound like good value to you? If so, then you and I have very different definition of '"value". Now, IF you can't understand the hatred after all this, then I dunno what to say.....

NVidia being greedy in the past doesn't allow them to be greedy now. Why shouldn't they receive backlash for stupid and greedy pricing?

I am in absolute agreement with you, it's just not news this time around. Really just goes to show how much of a cash-grab bullshit faceless company they really are tbh. Like sure AMD artificially limiting GPU clock speeds is incredibly distasteful but at least they aren't being blatant cash grabs like nvidia.

Thing is, the 3070 and 3080 are actually really good value if you look at MSRP. And because reviewers cannot use Ebay pricing as a reference they pretty much all agreed on the Ti being a pointless product. In any normal market these Ti models would be DOA. Anyone who wants to buy high-end but within reason will buy a 3080, and anyone who doesn't care about money and wants the best one possible will still go for the 3090. Other than stock issues, there is absolutely no reason to go for these Ti GPUs.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

MSRP is like a mirage of a lake that thirsty desert traveler are gravitating to, it's just an illusion!😅 That the RTX 3080 Ti is a distasteful and obvious cash grab is obvious to us, yet it somehow escapes the OP's thought process though.

As I'd mentioned, if anyone could recall, the intended launch price of 1k USD was already a tad hard to stomach, but nVidia blatantly raised it to 1.2k USD at the last moment because they knew it would sell regardless with the present GPU shortage. IF that's not a blatant example of a cash grab, I dunno what is!
