Free 256gb m.2 or 50$ 500gb m.2?

SpitfiremkII

MSo i need to replace my current hard drive because it is at the point that it takes 15 minutes to boot up my pc and takes around 20 seconds to load in the 2d map in far cry 3. My plan was to buy a small ssd 250-500gb to have windows and my most used programs on and keep the rest on the hdd. So my dad gave me his old 256gb m.2 ssd from his gaming laptop as he switched it for a 500gb.

This is themodel: https://www.westerndigital.com/products/commercial-internal-drives/pc-sn530-ssd

But i also found a fast m.2 500gb ssd for around 50$

I can only use one, is it worth using the 256gb ssd for free, i made the math i can fit the most used games and programs in it or shoud I buy the 500gb one

The WD SN530 isn’t a bad SSD, it should use BiCS4 with WD’s controller and it is the OEM of the SN550, so DRAM-less but with HMB (Host Memory Buffer). Check its health with CrystalDiskInfo or Hard Disk Sentinel.
