Help - High GPU usage

So my system has a gtx 980 g1, which is a pretty old card. It's about 7 years old. This is my first GPU and I got it second hand. I just want some advice about GPU usage.

I've been playing games and monitoring my system with MSI afterburner and I cant help but feel nervous when my GPU is runs at 99% (but the temps are steadily at 70-75C). Sometimes I'll drop down the settings in game and set a 60 fps limit to ensure that I don't stress it out too much. I want this GPU to last at least a few years, at least until the market isn't whack.

So is it alright for my GPU to run at high usage?

Dont worry, gpus are designed to run at full load. As long as the temps are fine (under 74c) then its fine.

As the first reply said, GPUs running at 100% is fine, and below 75 - ish range is OK. My RX 580 often runs at 100% and so does my Quadro k2200, the 580 is around equal to the 980.

Nice, makes me feel better lol
