Did you actually ever save money with Honey?

Stahlmann
Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

I'm in Australia and it has never worked. I tried it for a while but after it never found any deals I disabled it a while ago, but enable it every now and then when buying something online to check if it is going to find any deals and it never does.

From what I've heard it works in North America. I'm not sure if it's just a difference in the American market where coupons and discount codes are more common or if it's something to do with the way it works where there's more users in America which allows it to find more deals, or what... If you're outside of USA/Canada then I don't think there's much point installing it.

@Chris PrattI bet my CIA agent starts pulling his/her hair out every time I decide to listen to my sad cringey love songs playlist 😕

Just now, Chris Pratt said:

Well, that's mostly because there's no real point to a consumer VPN if everything you do is above board, but they can't market it for nefarious purposes without running afoul of laws. So, they just say you use a VPN for "privacy". If you're logged in to Google or Facebook, for example, you have no privacy online, VPN or not. They still know it's you.

From how i understand it, the main thing about VPN's is stopping your ISP from tracking you. I'd hope it's obvious to most people that your VPN-protection is nullified as soon as you sign in to any website.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I'll normally leave Honey disabled and only enable if I'm buying from Staples, where I'll get a guaranteed 2-3% Honey Gold cashback. I don't think I've ever had a valid coupon.

It worked for me, renewing some domains on namecheap.com - got something like 3$ off a 14$ domain.

Didn't try it in lots of other places, as usually shipping to my country ain't that cheap and local stores are more or Amazon UK/de/de whater don't do Honey ...

Anyway you can always disable the addon and only enable it before a purchase if you're paranoid or hate free add-ons

I live in the US and i buy a lot of stuff online. I've had honey installed for about 2 years now and NOT AS SINGLE TIME has it saved me money. Sometimes it comes up saying this is the best deal online, to a retailer i was gonna buy from anyway. I really need to remember to remove that add-in since it is completely useless but i always get distracted and forget to do it.

Never, I have never had a couponing chrome app save me money. A few like honey actually do less than nothing by popping up with "I have a coupon code for you" messages and then the site rejecting them 100% of the time.
