CDPR created an internal bug montage video "Cyber ElBuggado 2020" just prior to the release of Cyberpunk 2077

SenSnowy

A recent leak and more footage was found that shows what a buggy mess cyberpunk was prior to its release and it’s multiple delays.
jason Schreier who talked to over 20 employees before the release and had gotten plenty of criticism for his report that Cyberpunk was in no way finish and the employees are overworked and underpaid back in early 2020, made a comment on Twitter.

Video in link below. First clip contains NSFW game footage.

Summary

The video is a fun composition of bug materials QA and developers collected.

Quotes

Quote

Jason Schreier - In January, when I reported that most of the developers of Cyberpunk knew and openly said it wouldn’t be ready for release in 2020, CDPR studio head Adam Badowski responded on Twitter: “You’ve talked with 20 people... I wouldn’t call that ‘most’”

My thoughts

Honestly I hope this teaches the industry how viable QA is and it’s better to push a release than release a buggy mess. Sadly they won’t and we still see it every release.

Honestly, I think these are really cool and would love to see more of this sort of thing. I doubt companies would ever release them since it would make them look worse, I guess, but it would be a lot of fun to see more in-development footage and see what the devs have to deal with when making such massive games.

It wouldn't be a bad idea at all to show off dev bugs unless your game is, I dunno, unfinished and still buggy at launch. Hmm..

I feel like a lot of higher-ups would be against it even if the game was doing great in development. Most would probably worry about their and the company's image too much and wouldn't want to release anything that could make them look bad to the investors and the media.

Considering the huge hype Cyberpunk accumulated, if this was released before launch I'm sure it would've been a massive disaster..

I can’t see it being done much pre-release anyway.  That Witcher 3 thing was apparently part of a tenth annoversary celebration.  Such a thing might have calmed down the people baying for the release of cyberpunk 2077 though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

it's really cool seeing the early development stages, plus how the dev pc's would struggle in the later development stages. I wonder how close to release were they in some of those clips.

this is hilarious, and now I want hotdog and cat motorcycles

I agree it's neat to see the "behind the scenes" of the dev process. Considering some of the bugs in these videos, I'm actually surprised the release version wasn't even more cursed than it is

CDPR really is not having a good time recently.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

That's because they're absolutely clueless about how to create and manage the public's image of their company.

Oh it will happen again. Investors are tone deaf to the consequence of rushed prooduction. They just want to be shown flowery images of the state of the company, and to get their $. They then later berate management for the disaster.

Such is the perks of being publicly traded

I’d be bearish on a company that is much too heavily influenced by shareholders, and doesn’t have the confidence to hold course. Investors are not specialists in particular industries. If I don’t have confidence that the company I’m considering knows their industry better than I (ie, trusting them to make the right decisions), then I don’t feel the need to invest.

See, what you all fail to understand is this game is the unofficial sequel to Control where the Hiss escaped from the FBC and is slowly taking over the world.

Why would it, the game made bank regardless so as far as CDPR is concerned this is a success and the way forward.

Goes to show how much of a mess the game was and management still forcing a release when it was obviously not ready.

I just hope these were made months prior and not literally a few days /weeks before release.

This all looks like pretty standard early development/QR stuff.

Some of that stuff was clearly years prior to release. Game was definitely a mess, but a ton of the footage is fairly obviously long before release.

Some of those were funny. Sucks it got released buggy, but oh wow do all games... Still for me it plays well and I haven't noticed too many bugs that made it unplayable, which I definitely did in other games so. As long as they continue working on the game, improving it all good. Game is nice and has a potential to be better.
