Crysis Remastered trilogy

The first Crysis remaster did get a patch that fixed some of the problems people have pointed out. It's still far from perfect but at least the devs are trying to redeem it.

It's nice that they improved some aspects of the remaster, like re-adding lean, improving the visuals and performance in some aspects, restoring the suit mode-changing controls, re-adding the Ascension level, and making the wooden fence break-apart piece by piece (like it does in the original) rather than in big chunks.

But it looks like some of the notable issues with the remaster weren't addressed at the time that video was made, including the water which still looks awful, foliage doesn't react to explosions, and foliage reactivity when it does react is still locked to a low FPS. And the lighting and faces are still not right in places. Also, still no manual saves, and no multiplayer.

Unless CryTek have continued to address the shortcomings of the remaster since that March 12 DF video came out, overall, what the remaster offers still isn't superior to the original game - which is really sad for a remaster that released 13 years after the original, and even sadder considering this is CryTek.

It seems that the last patch for Crysis Remastered was 2.1.2, released April 29. That patch added experimental ray-tracing.

Like I said, it's far from perfect but doesn't mean they won't fix the problems. Halo Combat Evolved classic graphics are finally being fixed, 18 years after Gearbox broke them, so maybe Crytek will also commit into fixing the problems Crysis is having.

Other question is will it be too late, they really should have pushed back the release and implement the fixes and dlss into the release version. They might be facing the same problem as No Mans Sky, which apparently is pretty good nowdays, but since it was such a joke when it was released no one cares anymore.

Hopefully the new trilogy won't be Epic Store exclusive, since I only use Steam and GOG. Really wanted to pickup the original remaster too, but I'll wait and see if they release any of the remasters elsewhere.
