Is mcafee live on new laptop worth keeping? good alternative?

I just got the asus strix scar g15 2021... I have mcafee live safe for a year with it. Do j keep it or remove? If I do remove it can you recommend a good alternative to keep my laptop safe

Just uninstall. After uninstalling. Reboot. Then you got windows defender. Windows defender is more than enough for most users.

No, remove it. McAfee and any other antivirus program mostly suck. Id just stick with windows defender. THO the best way to avoid viruses is to KNOW what you are doing. Dont download random stuff. Dont click on random links etc. YOU are the best at avoiding viruses.

Uninstall It, i can tell you that its suck, 

 

(Out of topic) so when i buy my laptop it was still running a hard drive, and there's i think 2 anti virus, one of them was McAfee, after uninstalling them my laptop just overall more snappy, i fell like I'm using an ssd, of course until i decided to use the real ssd🙂

Uninstall it.  Defender + Malware Bytes is a much better combination.

I was doing tech support in college roughly a decade ago when McAfee really screwed up and was false identifying system files as viruses.  I saw the news story break on Sunday and sure enough, like 20 student laptops waiting for me Monday.  Since then, you couldn't pay me to put anything of theirs on a computer.

Windows defender is fine, if you want you can do Malwarebytes scans once in a while

Adguard for, Chrome, Firefox and even edge is also a nice touch. You'll only need the browser extension.
