Would there be any danger using it like this? lol
I've noticed no issues so far using it but I did go over to monitor speakers for now 😕

If I do replace it i'll have to replace the whole headset because it's the wire attached to the headphones and sadly not the usb extension.

Risking of shorting the DAC (possibly killing it in the process) is not something I would suggest doing just to use headphones while there is an alternative.

I accidentally burned my headphone wire but managed to put it out before spreading too much, the part where the wire is exposed is about 1/5th of an inch and the thin rubber is about 4/5th of an  inch on both sides.
Will electrical tape suffice or is there some better substitute?

Heat shrink tubing should work, I've had something simular on my Arctis 3 and ~6 months after heat shrink tubing it still works fine. You will need to replace the cable eventually though.
