Swapped Motherboard from Z390 to X570 and the iGPU Settings Remained...

Hey Everyone, I was going through my power profile today and noticed this:

Can't seem to find anything on Google on removing this from my power options...doesn't seem to hurt anything but since I don't have an iGPU and am not on an Intel system anymore it seems like it should be gone. Anyone know how to remove it? I was thinking of searching for the text in it in the registry but that seems dangerous without more info. Thanks!

you did not clean install iwndows when you swapped the platform so oyu have old junk/drivers from your intel system. I alwasy recommend people to clean install windows before changing platform because the old drivers can make oyu problems

Yeah I don’t reinstall Windows ever, I’ve said this before but this install is from when I originally had an i5 2500 system when I installed windows 10 and it’s been the same install for 5-6 complete swaps of components. In any case, I’ve resolved any other issues that come up and I’d like to do the same here without “giving up” by doing a clean install. That, plus I have hundreds (if not thousands) of installed programs and settings that I don’t wanna reconfigure.

It's not a if but when for when the install will break. Windows really isn't made to do this and you have had to have been beyond extremely lucky for it to survive this long.

 

Its not giving up it's a solution to a problem.

Having windows installed for 6 complete system swaps is pretty much gambling with your data every day. It's bound to have issues. You'll probably even gain quite a bit of performance with a clean install in this extreme case.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I really recommend doing a full reinstall, but as an alternative you can try DDU to remove the intel drivers.

I’m actually a PC repair technician and I’m very careful with what’s running and what’s installed. I’ve got 3 other machines (one of which hasn’t had a clean install since windows 2000...only upgrades) and when I ran a Geek Squad back in 2006 I picked up the mantra of “never give up, never reformat” and sort of ran with it. I’m not leaving performance on the table, i benchmark all my systems fairly regularly and it’s equal to or better than most similarly equipped systems and since this is the only issue I’ve found since my latest swap (Windows 10 is very easy to swap between hardware which is why tech you tubers have a generic Windows 10 install on an SSD they move around for tests) I’d like to figure it out. I’d imagine it’s something simple in the registry or something and was hoping someone here may know. Anyone have any ideas?

it is becuase you still have Intel drivers installed so the computer thinks that you still have Intel graphics. I have had simialr thing to happen.

I've removed everything Intel related, drivers, store apps, etc...just didn't wanna start randomly hunting through the registry but I guess I have to at this point.
