PCPartPicker lists shown in forum posts gone

dean_5234

Hi guys

Just a suggestion. I have noticed recently that PCPartPicker lists have not been showing the whole list in the post.

Just using a random old post I commented on, but it used to do this:

Spoiler

image.thumb.png.a89d67a8e01791416af0564e77b60f66.png

However, now it does not show the list. The link is just there.

Example:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fYRcLP

Is there a reason this has changed?

Big nerd.

Copy the BBCode, it includes the links and pastes it as rich text, yes, I would also like PCPP lists to be embedded some way or another

That makes sense why it changed, since the link itself not always being shown as a whole list is useful in many cases.

Interesting! It seems using the BB Code has been the recommendation for both of these, and it worked for me. Weird though how it used to automatically do it through just the link.

Posts don't use BBCode internally any more, so adding support for it would be very complicated, and would cause more problems than it would solve.

You can post issues even if they are later determined to be local or browser specific.

BB Code is ancient method of formatting posts. Forum is backwards compatible with the BBCode tags, for now. Thats something IPS, the developer of the software forums use, might change (or already has and we are using custom fork).

PCPP is currently in Cloudflare anti-ddos mode, which blocks all non-human requests including those used by the forum to load the PCPP embed. Once they switch it off, things should start working again, but until then you can use BBCode as a workaround.
