New System has stopped posting with my 3080 after crash

Vindicator Jones

Hi Everyone,

I have had a new system for about a month now, and has been working like a dream. I then crashed in a game and had to reboot.. The system then would not even post. I tried all the usual suspects, but then pulled out my 3080 and replaced it with a really old card, and the system booted up...

here is my system

Ryzen 5800x

Gigabyte Aurous X570 Master Motherboard

4 x G-Skill Trident neo (64g total)

Gigabyte Aurous Master 3080 Graphics Card

I have updated the motherboard Bios and updated drivers, but I still keep getting the same error code and the system not even posting. I have also tried using various HDMI and Display port cables (just in case)

Error Code is 62 - Installation of PCH runtime services.

Does anyone else have any suggestions before I contact the supplier (god knows how long I will have to wait for a replacement card)

Thanks for your time.

Idealy you'd try the gpu in another pc.

HDMI or DisplayPort ?

GPU Power delivery issue ?

I'm willing to swim against the current.

Unfortunately, I am unable to try it in another system.

I have tried both HDMI and Displayport.

I have a 1000 watt power supply, and it seems to be running the other card perfectly fine.

Try only 1,2 sticks of Ram. Maybe different slots.

Check all connectors

Looks like the 3080 just gave up the ghost... really would need another machine to try it in, and RMA if it fails.
