Rog Strix E Error 02 with 5950x - works normal when I go back to 3700x

Just got a 5950x and it won't start. I get the rog logo and see I can hit f2 or delete for bios. However, keyboard doesn't respond and mobo is showing error code 02. After hours of trying everything with 5950x still in I figured I'd try to go back to 3700x to see if I'd still have a work PC/perhaps I missed something. When switching back to 3700X I have no issues. I'm on the lastest bios. Any ideas?
