Having trouble with macros in OBS

yo ltt-ers im looking for some help or maybe even just an explanation on a problem ive been having. i recently purchased a corsair k57 rgb wireless keyboard and mainly picked it for the 6 mapable macro keys on the left side. i was planning to use them for OBS hotkeys to quickly do things like turn off my webcam or mute my microphone without having to alt-tab and ruin the immersion of the stream and whatnot. however, the macros work exactly as intended until i tab out of OBS they just dont do anything unless im tabbed into OBS which kinda defeats the whole purpose of the macros. an explanation or fix would be very much appreciated. thank you for your time!

(also my hotkey setting in OBS is set to never disable hotkeys)
