No XMP profiles in Gigabyte BIOS? And ratio is locked at 16?

Hi, I'm trying to reach my ram modules' base freq but there is no xmp profile in my motherboard's bios. Even the memory ratio is locked at 16.00.

The model is a GA-B85M-D3H, bios version is the latest F15. Ram sticks are a HyperX Fury 1866 4gb x2 kit.

I though this motherboard supported overclocking of of all kinds?? wth?

Lol It's the in the MIT menu. Look harder. Or watch a video on YouTube.

That's Z87 (also Z97 on the same socket) chipset, not B85. "B chipset for overclock" thing didnt start until Ryzen and Intel B560 and B560 only supports OC for memory, not CPU or iGPU cores.

Right there's the G3258 BIOS. OP probably needs a BIOS update then

The bios is the latest version, F15

I just found out that F6 or later versions of Gigabyte BIOS's for B85 allow cpu overclocking, but never supported XMP.

That's the G3258's work. As Intel's anniversary thing it's an unlocked Pentium. Obviously matching a cheap.CPU with expensive board makes no sense, so.Intel opened up CPU.core OC to all LGA 1150 motherboards.

Turns outthat the official page mentions XMP being possible on this board. I just couldn't find the option smh

XMP doesnt necessarily mean higher frequency than what the CPU supports. It could totally be limited to only lowering timings below JEDEC spec for example. This is not overclocking since the frequency is still in-spec, but timings are out of spec.

 

I dont think your kit gives tighter timings at 1600MHz, tho I guess you can go further by tuning it manually.
