Gpu doesnt click in the motherboard

Hey everyone today was the day i started building my pc after waiting months for all my part to be on stock. Everything went smoothly until i got to the point where i need to put the gpu inside the case, (Corsair 5000D Airflow) and when i wanted to slide the gpu to the PCIe slot it didnt want to click in, didnt hear any click and the gpu can easily come out without any force.

I tried pushing in hard but it just doesnt work, it goes in the PCIe slot by a little but there is like a 4-5mm gap where i need to screw the gpu.

I have an MSi X570 MPG gaming edge wifi motherboard (sadly i watched in depth reviews after i bought it and a lot of people said it wasnt that good along x570 mobos).

My gpu is a Gigabyte Radeon Rx 6800XT, quite a thick boi.

Do i need to buy a new motherboard? Would be the worse case because this one wasnt that cheap either (where i live)

If i have to buy one which one would you guys recommend? One with 2 m2. Ssd slot would be the best because i have two 1 tb m2. Ssd.

Excuse my way of writing this, im not a tech guy and english isnt my native language either, thanks for the help.

And make sure you take out the things that cover the slots it could also be a pop-out cover were you have to push it out

top 2 photos are reusable covers

bottom photo is a pop-out cover

Here are some pics, right when im taking these i realized even if i can push the card more those sata connector or however they are called (those block looking thingys) would block it anyway.

How does the io on the motherboard look from the back? It looks like the gap is larger on the back of the case than the front. Wondering if either the stand off are not installed or are the wrong height behind the motherboard.

I just realized i could mount my gpu vertically, since my case supports it. Only question is i need to buy an extention cable, corsair sells one but it supports PCIe 3.0 and not 4.0.

My gpu supports PCIe. 4.0 tho, would be a problem if i connect it to a cable extention that doesnt support 4.0? Like would there be a huge performance drop or potentially damage the card?

Or can any one you recommend any cable extention for vertical gpu mount that support PCIe 4.0?
