10100 Mem OC still locked on B560?

stumbled upon this article that stated 10100 would still be locked on 2666 on the B560 chipset. - here

am I missing something or is this how it is?

you can oc ram on b560 on all supported cpus

I presume you're talking about the underlined parts of the image attachment?

That's just the native spec support - 

 

11th gen is 3200 for i5/i7/i9 and 2666 for the lower end

10th gen is 2933 for i7/i9 and 2666 for the lower end

 

If you are on a locked motherboard, it will ONLY go up to that spec. If your motherboard allows memory overclocking, you can go above those specs.

 

For example, my i9-10900KF spec is 2933 - so if i put it in a board that doesn't allow memory overclocking, it will be stuck at 2933. But since I'm in a motherboard that allows memory overclocking, my memory is at 4000.

 

If you put any of those CPUs into a memory overclockable motherboard, it will let you go as fast as your individual CPUs IMCs and memory modules will allow.
