MSI B-550A PRO 3 beeps (one long, two short), no post, no dispaly

EduardoSC

Hi,

I had an MSI X99-A SLI and an i7 5820k, then the mobo broke, according to the guy at the shop anyway. It was not posting, showing no display and making 3 beeps after booting, one long followed be two short ones (this is important bear with me). This happened after 5 year of working fine. The guy I went to had my rig at his shop for 2 weeks, he said it was the motherboard because everything else was working fine. Supposedly...

I then bought a Ryzen 5600x and an Msi b550-a pro. This mobo was also broken (my luck) and I switched it for a new one (still an MSI B550-A PRO) as it was in the first 14 days.

I flash updated the bios, just to be safe, turn on the PC and low and behold, three beeps (one long, two short), no post, no display... this mobo has ez bedug LEDs. When I boot it up initially, the CPU LED turns on, then the DRAM flashes for a split second before changing to the VGA LED. That is when the 3 beeps (1 long 2 short) occur and only that LED stays on (VGA). RAM is properly placed and was reseated, same for GPU, even tried the bottom PCIe slot. CPU has enough thermal paste. CPU was also tested recently and was working perfectly. I removed the GPU (even though the 5600x does not have integrated graphics) and the same process happened, which leads me to believe that either my GPU is broken or that somehow the mobo is not detecting the GPU. Could it have anything to do with the BIOS? I think it couldn't be the PSU, since the GPU fans turn on.

What could it be?

I also don't have any other GPU or any other system so that I can isolate my variables... I am taking my PC to another shop, but I haven't had the time.
