Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

That’s not what 4K means though, 4K refers to a display resolution of roughly 4000 pixels horizontally. It has nothing to do with having 4x the pixels as 1080p. There is no such thing as 2K or 1K, 4K shouldn’t really exist either but marketers decided that 4K was easier for consumers to understand than 2160p.

Fun fact: Apple calls its motherboards "logic boards" and I don't mind that. Why? Because they're nonstandard and typically have different stuff on them than a regular motherboard would.

What would you consider a motherboard? For me the “main” board that houses the CPU, memory, and other critical components in a desktop computer or server is a motherboard, while in laptops, phones, and basically all other devices it’s a logic board.
Also as FakeKGB pointed out Apple calls the boards in their devices logic boards, so that is technically the correct term for those devices.

On the matter of Logic Board, that one actually grinds my gears because Apple just couldn't stop themselves rebranding something just to try and differentiate their device hardware.

Yeah, to be honest it does bother me a bit. Just call it a motherboard ffs.

It's funny because I was curious about just how long they've used "logic board" and there's an argument via wiki editors about Apple's lack of consistency; they have slipped up and put "motherboard" in their copy previously.

2k and 4k do exist, but they're from cinematography (2048x1080 and 4096x2160). Though people calling 1440p monitors 2k really triggers me.
