Does this really happen if you unplug your ram while running

So I saw this meme on reddit that if you unplug your ram while your pc is running, weird symbols will show up. Does this really happen? I can't find anything like this on youtube

I wouldn't be surprised. RAM is where most of the info on your computer is stored, and pulling it out can result in some weird stuff.

Note, however, that you should NEVER EVER EVER do this while a system is on. You could break the RAM stick, slot, or both.

There is a recent post on PCMR where they did just this while watching an LTT video on an exposed ITX board and the audio glitch nearly blew out his speakers. Would link to it but I'd wager you already are already subbed to r/PCMasterRace

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

I am "subbed", but the only reason I go there is to try and argue with idiots who think mining is the only reason we have a GPU shortage.

I once unplugged a RAM module in my system while I was in a game. All it really did was freeze and the audio started "brring".
