eeem no should we because i thought if it is a pre-built it will have drivers already installed

i mean yea most prebuilts come with drivers installed but trying woudnt hurt anyone

Hello guys so my friend bought a new pre-built (*cough cough*)
Here are the specs :
R5 3400G
8gb RAM (single channel) 1333mhz supposed to be working on 2400 but i think we should enable the xmp profile
250 SSD
The thing is when you boot up games it plays them on really low fps . We do not know what is wrong . Do you guys maybe have any ideas ?

Single channel and Slow ram for ryzen is a bad mixture

What settings is he trying to run at?

1080p? Med low high (What game?)

I wouldn't have high expectations in the first place though.

So he is trying destiny 2 and roblox . Roblox on the lowest graphics runs on 20 fps and d2 always changes the resolution from 720p to 1080p

RAM upgrade and you should be set, higher frequency/lower cas latency and dual channel will have tremendous gains in performance. 16GB 3200C16 (Ballistix or G SKILL RIpjaws) are good price/performance micron rev e options.

What mobo are you using?  The ram shouldn't be that low, where did you get the frequency from?  What does the bios say.  What does task manager say.
