Cell phone boosters for rural areas

Hi everyone!

 

I have a summer place an hour north of Montreal. It's in a valley and the cellular reception is spotty, some time just moving a couple of centimeters will cause my signal to drop to the point where I barely have a connection and the sound will become garbled.

 

Has anyone used a cell phone booster to improve signal strength? If so, what would you recommend?
