4k editing and gaming with APU or Iris

Hi,

The prices for GPU seems to be very high and I just wonder whether and AMD Ryzen APU or Intel Iris would be sufficient to do 4k editing and play games in 4k@60hz and maybe to do some Wii emulation?

Furthermore, I would like to try Roblox studio.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

What editing programs do you want to use? What codecs, should work though, but a bit slowly, might want to make proxies too.

What games? Your not playing AAA games at 4k60 with any igpu today, but older games/lower requirements will work fine.

4k editing: expect some slowdowns with preview enabled even with only a fraction of the resolution.  That said, not impossible.

4k gaming: only on games that has nothing to do with 3D graphics, or if you're good with single digit frame rates. They've only just started to manage 1080p60fps with minimum graphics sometimes so dont expect too much.

And if any iGPU can game at 4K, the 70 and below ranks of cards (RTX 3070 and RX 6700XT and below) will be made pointless by it.

If it's older stuff, no sweat. Half Life and Unreal Tournament, even UT2004 should run great at 4K60 on a Ryzen or Xe APU
