Lenovo Legion for 3080

flyf1nn

I have looking for a 3080 for several months now (as I'm sure many of you have been). I was scrolling on some r/buildapcsales and saw that Lenovo had a Legion Tower 7i (19-10900k, 3080, 32GB RAM...) and ordered one almost immediately. Did I make a mistake buying a prebuilt with all Lenovo branded parts? Any input on the reliability of these components? I have been testing it fairly rigorously and it performs great and I did get my 3080, it just has a spartan looking dude logo on it.

It's not like they're going to give you a vastly inferior product. RAM is RAM, the CPU is the same, the only thing that might be iffy is the motherboard, but it is what it is. In the current market you either buy a prebuilt, or pay the inflated scalper pricing.

The 3080 will almost certainly be an OEM card. Better that the 20 series which were still blower style cards for the OEM models. The 30 series has a triple fan design for the 3080 so will have better cooling performance. Might not be as good as an AIB card though.

Edit - I found this one on Ebay - (an OEM card from a Dell Alienware) it might be a double fan design so cooling might be an issue.

It is a triple fan. So far cooling has not been an issue.
