i9 10850K OC and Benchmarks Help

I need some help I'm completely new to OC'ing these new CPU's I came from a Q9450 was the last CPU I played with if that tells you anything. My main question is I have it OC'd to 4990Ghz but when I run CineBench it throttles all the way down to 4366 that you can see in the screen shot below, my temps never got above 55c on any of the cores. I don't know if I have a setting wrong or what, like I said I'm completely new to these CPU's, and I know I could get a whole lot better CineBench score if I could keep it at the full OC I have on here. Please help anything would be awesome TYVM.

Oh and I know my Graphics Score on Passmark is abysmal because I'm using the onboard GPU in the CPU but I'm wondering how the other scores look to Y'all so I can get some idea of how my setup is running.

@TubbyTubb Use HWiNFO64 instead of HWMonitor. HWiNFO reports the throttling flags so you will have some idea of why your CPU is slowing down when fully loaded. I am 99% sure that you will see PL1 power limit throttling. The default 125W power limit is a joke. In the BIOS, set the two turbo power limits, PL1 and PL2, to 300W or whatever your cooling can handle.

Are you using some sort of Auto overclocking? I would avoid setting your BCLK speed to 104 MHz. Set it to 100 MHz so it does not interfere with stability. If you want to overclock, just increase the turbo ratios. A 50X all core overclock works well without needing too much voltage.

Your CPU voltage looks a little on the high side. Are you using a fixed voltage in the BIOS or some other setting? You can probably reduce your CPU voltage 50 mV to 100 mV and still be stable. This helps a lot with the heat.

Here is what is possible when you push a 10850K to the brink.

image.png.c298e1fbb0fa6d01d22ddae85f905ffd.png

After you increase your turbo power limits, here is an idea of how much voltage a 10850K needs to run Cinebench R23 reliably.

I think at 5000 MHz you are closer to 1.38V. That is why I think you should consider reducing your CPU voltage by up to -100 mV.

@unclewebbOk I done what you suggested and dropped the BLCK back to 100 and I decreased the CPU voltage in the BIOS but on HWiNFO64, I didn't know about this one lots of info on it that I need to get used to, it's still showing up as 1.34 to 1.37v I'm not sure if I'm missing something or not. I will reply to this to show the screenshots of what it  shows in just a minute and I also put the CPU ratio at 50.

I also deactivated the power limit thing although it didn't come up as PL1 or PL2 it was called something else but I did turn it off. I'm gonna run a couple quick benches to see if it's still stable or if it is gonna throttle, I still haven't found the part on HWINFO about the throttling, probably just because I'm not used to it and still learning about it. Let me know what you think about this please, Thanks.

Something is definitely not right this score is worse than when I had it completely stock. Still throttling hard I found the PL1 PL2 part on HWInfo and I thought I turned that off in the BIOS but I guess I must have been mistaken.

Turn off all of your background tasks. Run as little as possible before benching the cpu.

How do I do that on Win10 The last OS I had was Win7 so I'm still learning that as well. Plus I have some updated screen shots, No throttling full bore@5Ghz. I also beat a ThreadRipper 1950X, I'm not sure if this is a great number or not but it's a whole lot better than it was. I was finally able to find the PL1 and PL2 setting in the BIOS and changed it to 150Tjmax I hope that's a good number since my CPU temp got to about 82c. I think that is an acceptable temp for this CPU. Now I have to work on getting the CPU voltage down so I can get it stable with a lower voltage. There's just a whole lot of voltages in the BIOS that I have no idea what they do.

Very cool I think mine might have some left in her just got to learn more of the settings to be able to tweak it some more.  Just for S's&G's I ran a Passmark test and this is what I got. I know my GPU score is horrible since all I have is the onboard video so I have to deal with that for now. I do have a question about GPU's I have a Radeon 5770 and I was wondering if that would be better than what I have now, No BS opinions please. Just trying to get the most out of this rig as I can with what I have.

Or what do y'all think about a 1050ti with my system?? Would that be better than the onboard I have now?? I know actual GPU vs. Onboard GPU should be a no brainer but I just wanna be sure if I should worry about it until someone has stock or not. Oh and the 1050ti would be free as well.

It would roughly be 450-500% increase in video performance. It's a no brainer.

Sure no problem man. I'm pretty sure it'll be a night and day difference and very much worth that free price tag.

@ShrimpBrime I'm curious, I'm working on my nephew's PC it has a 1050ti like I'm about to get for free and it's in just a regular HP gaming desktop nothing fancy at all and I run a quick Passmark test on there and the results are below. My question is should I expect those scores to scale well with a 1050ti in my rig. Another thing I noticed is that on one of the tests I was penalized because my nephew's monitor isn't a 4K and it said the I was penalized 60% on that test, so since everything else in my rig scores exceptionally well on everything but the 2 and 3D tests so I was asking if y'all think it's gonna score higher than this score or about the same. Thanks y'all.

Oh one more thing, I have a separate 1050ti that's mine but the fan was damaged is there anyway, I know it can be replaced, but can someone help me find a replacement fan?? I've been looking everywhere and there's a ton of fans and I don't wanna order one and it not be done.

I had better luck on Ali Express. Even found a replacement fan for my Strix 2080ti. Perhaps you could try there.

Since I don't know the full specs of the HP system, assuming it's running a low watt cpu and memory at Jedec speeds and so forth, you should in theory have a much better scoring experience even with the same GPU.

You could try some 3D benchmarks for more accurate comparisons, perhaps Unigene Heaven or 3DMark of your choice.

as for the 1050ti fans... Is it a single fan or dual fan card? E-bay looks to have fans a plenty....

That's my bad man. It has a Ryzen 3 2200g, 16gb ram 1tb HDD and of course the 1050ti. The GPU has a single fan with the 2 pin connector on it, I've looked on eBay and Amazon and they definitely have a ton of fans and that's what I'm "worried" about getting the wrong one lol.

Yeah I seen one of there ads on Google when I was searching for something else but I've heard mixed reviews as in 1 person had a great experience and others not so much, so I'm kind of Leary about some of these knock off websites and I don't wanna get burned. Well it looks like an inexpensive chance. If the top 3 a look the same on the list, it's probably the right fan.

A 10850K completely smashes the AMD 2200G haha. No holds barred there man XD.

Maybe GeekBench 5 for system comparisons instead?

Ok cool yeah the fan has the 3 screws to hold it down I'll take a chance and look for one and order it, I agree they are cheap so yeah not too much risk. I'll have to find out what good benchmarks there are, these days, to get more accurate results, the reason I use Passmark is because I was already familiar with that one from when I used to do a lot of benchmarking and such but the last time I done that was about 10 years ago so I'm a little out of the loop. I don't mind paying for a good benchmark I just need to figure out which ones are more popular and preferably free these days. I'll look up the fans after a while I've only had about 4 hours sleep, so I will check back here when I wake up, thanks man again.
