transferring remote start from one car to another?
Entirely depends on the model of remote start and year make model of car. In theory everything should be a wire tap that the remote start plugs into but can't say without the documentation of the remote starter or documentation of the car. Some kits with some cars require that an extra key be placed into an extra lock cylinder thats wired to the TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) so that it can bypass systems such as Passkey (or any other manufacturer equivalents). So that essentially defeats all the theft deterrence of a vehicle since a key is inside the car and it is always transmitting the encryption key to the TDM. It really all depends on the vehicle and the kit. Some if improperly installed will either cause the car not to start or cause the car to not shut off.
My advice is unless you can get the proper documentation for the remote starter that you have then don't bother with it since you can cause a lot more trouble then its worth.
