How to change the type of file?

If you go into file explorer and right click a file and go to properties it says type of file, I downloaded pycharm and now the file type says "JetBrains PyCharm Community Edition (.py)". How do I change it and make it say "Python file (.py)"?

Right click the file and click open with then click choose another app

Then click the box next to the 'Always use this to open .py files' and choose the app you want to open the program with. Probably just python in your case.
