Whats your dream car.

Debenzor

Tesla Roadster.

I mean, it's 2021... arguably, your dream cars should only be EVs. It's not just that they're kinder to the planet, it's that they're often quicker off the line than combustion engine cars (and in the Roadster's case should hold that edge over time). I'm not keen on spewing gobs of CO2 just to hear loud vroom-vroom noises.

Agreed.

Imagine you live in an apartment block. If the noises produced by your vehicle are louder than you'd be comfortable with your neighbours playing music, it's too loud.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Granted, I'd immediately ruin it by replacing all the non-comtech 80s parts with late model 90s parts and going ham on engine mods but 1/50

Nope, I had a 2002 S2 (the first edition of the S2) and it was £12k when I bought it used. That's what my friend paid for their new Renault clio at the time, to give you an idea of equivalents.

Don't buy new cars, buy them used and have some fun!

A funny story for all you dream car lovers

I had a client with a (then) brand new Porsche Carrera GT in shiny silver.

Had it about a year when I I met him.

Total miles on it?

About 3.

He couldn't drive a manual transmission

He could afford the car, but was terrified to drive it.

Had it delivered in his garage and there it sat. He washed and waxed it weekly.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Since I think that the best car is the car you can use the most (aka daily driver), I want RS3 8V 3dr hatch with manual and the ability to send all torque to the rear axis in a 'selected' mode (like on the latest ones). Unfortunately this car doesn't exist ;( Hmm, maybe Carrera 4S, but with usable rear seats and trunk... well may be with the EV version... hopefully they will find a way to make it fun, I wonder if there is gonna be any "manual" solutions for ppl with the same preferences...

So far as an ICE car goes, I already have it: a honda civic. Just got it actually, a used 2017 LX model. Something small, reliable, economical, fuel efficient, etc. I'm pretty easy to please that way.

System Specs: Second-class potato, slightly mouldy

Hard for me to pin down just one.

I've always wanted a '69 mustang, like this one here:

Ford Mustang Mach 1 - Wikipedia

Lately I've also been looking at M151 MUTT's. They're basically the last iteration of the "Wily's Jeep" style vehicles, and they were replaced by the Humvee. That's also something that I want, come to think of it:

M151 ¼-ton 4×4 utility truck - Wikipedia

And, of course, the M113 APC, can't forget that, even though I will likely never even get the chance to purchase one:

It comes down to two:

I really want a Grand Wagoneer again, it was my first car and I regret letting go of it when my burgeoning mechanic skills were not quite enough to keep it on the road. If I got into another one the old AMC 360/TF727 drivetrain would come out and a more modern drivetrain would go in, because the 8mpg I got was only marginally acceptable then because gas was $0.89 a gallon. Even a basic 5.3L LS-based truck motor and 4L60E would be considerably better.

This was my actual car

Wagoneer.thumb.jpg.54abb83d7a0bb97786552f6c378b03f9.jpg

My other interest would be a really clean W123 Mercedes turbodiesel. I tried buying one years ago but couldn't ever get one in the condition I was looking for at a reasonable price (because I'm cheap, haha). Very smooth driving, excellent styling, and aside from a few small idiosyncrasies that I've fixed on them before they are extremely reliable.

Mercedes-Benz W123.jpg

If I were 20 again I guess a Ferrari 355 or a Corvette would be what I'd want, but buying a GSX-R 1000 is pretty easy and attainable, so fast is relatively cheap.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

Mine was the Audi TT 2nd gen. Then 3 years ago i bought a 2008 TTS and was extremely happy with it (for a short time). The transmission died twice in one year, which luckily was covered by the seller because of the warranty. But because of these repairs it was more often in the workshop than with me driving around. Seeing how lucky i was with this car i resold it after my 1 year warranty was over before anything else breaks and another several thousand € repairs comes up.  That was really frustrating as i was so happy to own the car i wanted since being a kid, but it didn't work out at all. Also lost 4000€ in resale value compared to what i paid when i sold it because of it's recent repair history.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I agree, although I'd have to see superchargers as common as gas stations though due  to a distinct lack of them in my area
