Anyone know if NFS benefits (much) from SMT/HT? In quick on the fly observation it looks like it doesn't affect times much so might as well run it, and only reduce close to the end in case it helps last few units get out.

Excuse my responses yesterday. Apparently I had a fever on top of the sleep deprivation and the most basic of concepts was just lost on me lol.

Reading over everything I did yesterday between here and Discord was... something else.

The NFS@home server appears to be not working.

 

Their Server Stats page shows no errors other than 17,000 odd Tasks waiting for validation but I'm seeing Tasks stuck "Uploading" and jobs stuck "Ready to Report."

So how long should we run NFS? 

Btw, I might have to stop NFS for sometime in the next couple of days due to the RAM overhead and me having to do something that is sorta time sensitive

Then we should all pivot to World Community Grid - Microbiome Immunity Project for the final Javelin throw.

 

It would be nice if NFS' servers were working better so we could get a better understanding of where we sit so some people could start bunkering on Javelin.

 

The event itself is over in approximately 1 day, 8 1/2 hours.

That explains the alarming drop in our performance. Our nearest competitor has reported at least 2 hours of 600k credits, whereas we're stuck at <80k(whilst doing 250k+ before). The gap has fallen from over 2 million at one point to just over a million now. I think it's gonna be tight...

 

Didn't @leadeater say he could get us to 11.7m by himself? That takes some pressure off the rest of us, although I'll definitely switch my 24 threads to MIP tomorrow morning.

I believe @leadeater could get us there but only if they could bunker. Getting there without bunkering will likely require all hands on Javelin (WCG) at 20:00EST (00:00GMT)

alright, 24 total cores on Javelin bunkering as of a little bit ago. Some of my Marathon work didn't want to upload right now anyway

I switched to WCG at about 12 hours before Throw start. I looked at the gap and figured it would be safe if everyone else stayed on NFS.

I'll resume some NFS if it gets too close at the next update in 15 minutes and just have to sacrifice some WCG jobs to get those NFS submitted.

Lead is down to 728k with 3 hours to go. They’re only out producing us by 22k points per hour but that could change if the NFS servers are clearing a backlog or they’re holding bunkers

I’ll stay on NFS till 23:45 GMT then switch everything over to Javelin unless instructed otherwise.
