Weird buzzing noise + reallllly quiet on Rode PodMic

ohDrum

Hello,

I ordered a Rode PodMic a couple days ago and set it up yesterday. The setup was good and the mic itself is of really good quality and is quiet nice. When I test it out though, it is around -50 decibels. When I amplify it in Audacity, I can hear this super annoying buzzing sound and tons of background noise. The mic itself sounds good just all this is quite confusing. I asked my friend and he says I need a cloudlifter. Anything I can do to possibly fix this without having to spend an extra $150?

-msi b550-a pro

-lian li lancool mesh II

: ) have a good day

Rode-AI1

bit of an update: Ik dynamic mics are quiet, I also got a different XLR cable. I read somewhere that the xlr cable is better a certain way. It seems to be running pretty well but is there by chance any reason why its quiet? (besides it being dynamic)

Dynamic mics are less sensitive than condenser mics, it's just how they are, if you find that it needs a boost grab a Klark Teknik CT1, basically the same as a cloud lifter but a bunch cheaper.

alright thanks, i think ive managed to boost it enough. i also read that the cable matters so i got a new cable and the buzzing sound was a lot better :]
