Nvidia 12-pin Molex MicroFit 3.0 - RTX 3060 Ti FE

azrael_seth

Hi every one,

I bought a Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti FE and by accident I saw that the adapter 12pins to 8pins use only 6pins cf photos but the GC realy have 12pins on its pcb :front.jpg

So has anyone tried an adapter 12pins to 2x8pins like with the 3080 FE ?
I read that power is the primary limiter in overclocking this card, does it change anything to use a 12pins to 2x8pins adapter ?

Bye.

no. 12pin supplies the same amount as 2x8pin. that is because the 2pins of the 8pins are ground and do not supply any power at all.

i've got a 2x 8 pin to 12pin cable going to my 3070 FE

don't O/C so not sure if it will help. but all cables are connected so possible it might give more power stablilty

to 3060ti FE and 3070 FE have the same PCB, the only difference is the 3060ti FE is 8 phase while the 3070 FE is 9 phase for power management

So I need to find if the power shortage is because of the gpu's vrm or the max power supplied by one 8pins connector.
Thank you very much.
