Apple April 20 event - New iMac and iPad Pro with M1 chips, 'AirTags' and a new iPhone color

WWDC is the actual geek aimed tech level show. You're gonna probably need to wait til that (and not the keynote, as that'll most likely still be aimed at the mainstream)

Oh I’m a mainstream duffer these days.  If it will play video games not specifically rewritten for macs I’m good.  It’s all I need to know.  Well, that and how much the thing will cost.  There have been iMac CPUs that had more than enough grunt to do what I want to do.  The problem always was they either refused to put adequate gpus in the things or they’d put in so much they cost like 5 grand.  I’m grumpy about Apple tax but I’ll pay it if there’s no other way.  That tax can’t be more than a few hundred $USA though.  A few thousand was too much.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

True, i think apple assume you have an apple watch for that 😉 you can open the find my on there or ask siri ...

Haha, I guess. Which, honestly, changes my personal massive distaste as I'd get a watch to go with the phone.

However, as a product, it still falls short of what it really should be.

I’ll have to decide if that’s an advantage or disadvantage.  Would depend on whether you lose your keys more often or you phone.  An advantage if you only by one because some joker can’t ring your phone by stealing your keys.  Might be a disadvantage in my case some of the time.  I misplace my phone as often as I misplace my keys

The fact it's a fairly basic feature that's missing is more of the problem. Doesn't matter if you don't use it often, it should be there in case it one day is needed.

I fail to see how someone getting your phone to beep is a huge issue.

Apple has issues with the whole sound thing.

One of the hardest things to do is to get an iPhone to play a loud alarm repeatedly, and it’s Apple that gets in the way.  It comes from fart apps I think, which have been more or less unknown for several years now.  Office people can be astounding douche bags.  It’s like some of them never got out of junior high.
