Ryzen 5 2600 vs Ryzen 3 3100 vs i3-10105f

Hey, guys! I need your opinion on this! I'm getting a new cpu/mobo/ram for my build upgrading from my current i5-3470 and ddr3 memory. I am currently looking at the Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 3 3100, or the i3-1010f. If you're asking why the Ryzen 3 3300x is not here, it's because it's overpriced here in the Philippines (around the same price as a Ryzen 5 3600, and I'm on a budget).

My main purpose of this upgrade would be for a budget PC. I already upgraded from a GT 1030 to a GTX 1650 Super and I was aiming for 1080p Med-High on Triple A games (both old and upcoming) and High FPS on competitive games (Playing Apex Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, CS:GO, Warzone on lowest settings to maintain at least 75fps minimum). So far, the GTX 1650 Super has been fine for me I have been playing games I've been missing out.

But, I don't want to use this PC exclusively for gaming. I am getting into basic game development, Photoshop, and video editing (currently using Vegas, but might use Filmora or something else? Suggestions please!). So I would want a CPU that would do all of these sufficiently; Photoshop isn't as laggy and/or unresponsive, Vegas preview isn't lag and the rendering time is significantly reduced, and for game developmen just enough for 2D Pixel Art games.

Another thing I wanted to do is Stream my gameplay. I tried playing Dota 2 and Valorant and streamed it to Facebook at 720p30 (on Twitch I could 720p60) and my performance was fine (although my settings on these games weren't at maximum). I believe a LARGE part of how I was able to stream is because of the New NVENC encoder on the GTX 1650 Super, reducing much of the CPU load. Nonetheless, I still would want a CPU which could be reliable to stream at 720p60 or 1080p30 at around 4500-6000 bitrate.

As for why I'm not choosing the Ryzen 5 3600, it's because I'm on a budget. For either of the Ryzen CPU choices (2600 or 3100) I would only be using an A320M motherboard (since I don't need fancy features) and also some of them have M.2 SSD support. I plan on getting a 16GB dual kit memory of 3000mhz or 3200mhz because I heard that Ryzen benefits a lot from that not only in FPS but also in overall performance.

As for why the i3-10105f is here, I saw that it was a recent competitor to the Ryzen 3 3100 at a slightly lower price and had slightly higher performance, but given that it's Intel, it would probably not be as fast in multicore workloads.

You might be wondering why I'm not just immediately choosing the Ryzen 5 2600, it's because I was able to stream with this old quadcore i5-3470 Dota 2 and Valorant finely with good fps. I was thinking maybe it isn't really necessary to have 6c/12t for streaming and all the previous uses I said, and save around $40-$50

Lastly, these are the prices for my upgrade path:

Total Budget: $300

Motherboard: $52

Memory: $94

Budget for CPU: ~$150

Ryzen 5 2600: $165 (A little overbudget)

Ryzen 3 3100: $120

Intel i3-10105f: No price yet here in the PH, should I wait for this?

Thanks in advance to all of you who try to help me with this!

Yeah, the 2600 gets my vote. Ask a buddy for 15 bucks towards a budget. 🙂

2600.

It's no competition, I'd streach the budget if you could. The Photoshop/video editing and game development (depending on the tools) can leverage multicore heavily,

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

In the future I might regret the lesser power,

but I probably wouldn't regret the $15.
