It started as "Who owns linus sebastian". Google suggested the rest.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Probably a region thing not a mobile/desktop thing, I am on a laptop and got the same first result you did when using Google. If you haven't already, give DuckDuckGo a try.

This is awful and you shouldn't post this. No one should suggest or joke that one person is owned by another.

FakeKGB also searched PC. I think DSD27 got a different result due to using a non English Google (or having his system language set to another language), which will prioritise results that are in their language. Makes sense that if you're an English speaker searching Google.com that the top results aren't in Spanish or Russian.

The April fool's joke of LMG being owned by NVIDIA was only posted in English on an English speaking website, the result DSD27 gets is from Wikipedia which has multiple languages so is more likely Google will pull it's answer from there.

Joe has N notifications.

Sarah has ln(n) = e notifications.

How many notifications does Joe have?

Jokes aside, I sometimes wonder how Google comes up with its "suggested searches".

I once was searching "Argentina yearly power draw" but on "yearly" it "suggested" "Argentina yearly death rate".

...ok...

It is down to Google being confused with languages. Norwegian on English system, English Google shows different results.

It is complex, but easy to confuse.

Fiancee's old laptop is in Norwegian. Search in Google on a Norwegian computer in America...

I don't think it's that, because other search engines like DuckDuckGo and Bing show a short answer towards the right if you are on desktop (see SansVarnic's screenshot above), along with the search results like usual. It is just Google being Google.

I can see how that can confuse it. It's like dropping a spanish person in Japan with google translate on an old Pentium laptop.
