Spotify's bitrate quality when streaming to "another device"

If I control everything in Opera (web), but I make it so it reproduces in the desktop client, will the bitrate quality be the one from the web app or the desktop client?

AFAIK, the control-over-the-network feature in Spotify just tells the target device what to play, and the target device does so with all its settings. It's not streaming from the controller.

I'm using the built in music player of Opera GX, which has Spotify. Sadly, Spotify on the web tops at 256kbps, but in the desktop client it can do 320kbps.

Then I can control it in the web and it will output 320kbps through the desktop client... Nice.

Edit: But for this specific case, never mind. It can be done, but if you do it, the functionality of Opera GX which automatically stops the music when you start watching a video or media and then resumes as soon as you finish, won't work.

@AbydosOneDo you know if when we're listening on the web (without the desktop), our followers can see what we're listening to?

I would assume so (it's all one unified platform), but I don't know for sure because I turned all that off.

But the settings for that are not present in the web, only in the desktop client and maybe mobile. that's why I'm curious.
